Last night, former Macon City Council President, Miriam Paris, got one step closer to becoming the ninth woman in the Georgia Senate. Miriam was the top vote getter in last nights special election for Senate District 26, the open middle Georgia seat vacated earlier this month by Minority Leader Robert Brown. When all the votes were counted, Miriam received 45% of the vote and faces former State Rep. David Lucas in the August 16th runoff.
“This is a Democratic seat, and Miriam is the best Democrat in this runoff,” said Allie Kelly, chair of Georgia’s WIN List.
WIN Listwas with Miriam every step of the way and will continue to be right there with her until she is elected to the Georgia Senate on August 16th. “The endorsement from WIN as well as the staff support was essential to our success and the momentum of my campaign,” Miriam said.
