Hey Georgia’s WIN List, my name is Folana Houston and I am one of three WIN Staffers in Texas at Campaign School this year. It’s only our second day and I have already learned SO MUCH!
Last night the group was divided into three teams, Blue, Red and Yellow. We were then given our Campaign Simulation assignments. We worked late into the night preparing our campaign budget, path to victory plan and fundraising schedule. This morning the focus is on “Campaigns and Planning”-something I am really looking forward to learning about. In fact, I heard a great quote in this morning’s session regarding Campaign Planning. It’s from Dwight Eisenhower. He said “The plan is nothing. Planning is everything.”
We get out of class tonight around 6pm and after a quick dinner as a group we will break back into our Campaign Simulation teams and implement all that we learned today. I am so excited to be here and can already see a difference in my outlook on campaigning. I look forward to putting these tools to use once I’m back in Georgia working on a campaign for the last 90 days of the race.
