Courtney Driver
HD 146
Georgia WIN List is proud to endorse Courtney Driver for HD 146.
Courtney is a mother, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a lifelong community advocate. Growing up with a father who is an Air Force Veteran and retired NASA engineer and her mother as the church secretary, Courtney learned the value of hard work and community engagement early. Her first introduction to politics was in high school when she drafted and presented a proposal to her local City Council that would allow students to serve on city commissions. Courtney believed that young people should have a seat at the table where decisions are made on behalf of the city.
Courtney found her passion in educating young voters, training emerging young leaders and working on political campaigns including President Barack Obama, serving on the Finance Committee for then Attorney General Kamala Harris, and many other local campaigns in various capacities. Upon relocating from California to Georgia, Courtney has worked tirelessly with the Democratic Party of Georgia as the Chair of Houston County Committee, Vice-Chair of the Veterans and Military Families Council and as part of the Strategic Planning Committee uplifting the voices for Veterans and for rural communities.
Courtney served as the Veterans Outreach Director in the historic campaign of Senator Raphael Warnock which gave Democrats the Senate Majority. In 2020, Courtney served as the Co-Legal Director for March On, and coordinated two bus tours, one nationwide and one in Georgia focused on voter protection.
What is Courtney Fighting For:
The people of Georgia deserve a leader who fights for their best interests. After working in the 2020 election to flip Georgia blue, the Georgia GOP launched an attack on our fundamental right to vote and Courtney refused to stand on the sidelines. The incumbent in this district has run unopposed for 3 election cycles and enough is enough. Our Governor and current State Representative have refused to expand Medicaid for the 1.5 Million Georgians without health insurance. Courtney plans to fully support and advocate for the expansion of Medicaid to support the 13.2% of residents in Houston County who are uninsured. As a mother to a kindergartener, she understands firsthand the importance of ensuring that our public schools have the funding and resources needed to succeed.
All Georgians deserve a quality public school education no matter their income, zip code or race. As a veteran and advocate for veterans and military families, I understand first-hand the obligation to care for the men and women who served our nation. With our state being home to over 600,000 veterans, we must ensure that Georgia provides a welcoming home for our veterans and their families. Courtney’s campaign is focused on these key issues: equitable and accessible healthcare; investing in our public education; stability for our veterans; supporting our working class; and defending our democracy.
