Georgia’s WIN List is proud to endorse Representative Angelika Kausche, House District 50 for re-election in Johns Creek as one of our “Terrific Twelve” candidates. She has demonstrated a commitment to serving her district by actively engaging with her community and supporting smart, research-driven legislation.
Angelika was born in Germany and became a U.S. citizen in 2011. She holds an MBA from Universität Trier and worked in the German banking system before immigrating to the United States in 1997. Angelika then attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a second Master’s degree in Organizational Communication. She taught as an adjunct professor in Michigan and North Carolina prior to moving to Georgia.
In the State House, Angelika is a strong advocate for women’s rights and equality. Her commitment is best demonstrated by her work and voting record, supporting reasonable legislation backed by responsible, evidence-based solutions. Upon re-election, she vows to continue to support ethical policy initiatives, such as expanding access to education and healthcare, reducing gun violence, and protecting the environment.
Angelika envisions a Georgia “where we embrace rather than fear one another and where diversity is appreciated and valued by building bridges instead of walls.” As an immigrant, she condemns the divisive and unproductive rhetoric that is prevalent in the current political climate.
House District 50 is a unique seat and contains one of the highest concentrations of naturalized citizens in the state. To encourage her constituents’ right to vote and boost participation in the democratic process, Angelika and her team utilize grassroots, community-oriented efforts to truly understand her neighbors’ concerns.
Angelika lives in Johns Creek with her husband, Dr. Fabian Kausche. They have two daughters, Hannah and Ines, both of whom attended public universities. Angelika and her family enjoy hiking the Appalachian mountains with their dog and visiting the beautiful Georgia coast.

Georgia women like Angelika made history in 2018 by flipping their seat, previously long-held by Republicans. With women in record numbers on the ballot this year, WIN List needs your help to elect these women and train the candidates we want to see on the ballot in 2020 and beyond.
