This is the first in our series of posts highlighting our newest board members.  Today we are featuring La’Keitha Jonise Daniels.

La’Keitha is Corporate Counsel for Concessions International, LLC, a family and minority-owned company and a leading airport concessionaire, with operations in Atlanta, Detroit, Denver, Miami, Columbia, Seattle, Portland, and St. Thomas.  She also has followed her passion for baking and  is Owner of “Sweet Justice”, a bakery serving traditional and gourmet cakes and cupcakes.  

La’Keitha served as President for the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys for 2010  and currently sits on the Board of the Red Clay Democrats and the American Constitutional Society.  She was recently named to the Atlanta Business League’s 2010 list of “Atlanta’s Top 100 Black Women of Influence”  “Power 50” List of Atlanta’s top 50 industry leaders and has been recognized as one of Georgia Trend’s Top 40 Under Forty for 2008 and named Community Champion by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for 2009.   She received her Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law and completed her undergraduate degree in Mass Media Arts/Public Relations at Clark Atlanta University.

One of the founders of Young Lawyers for Obama and directors for Generation Obama in Georgia, La’Keitha has been involved in politics since she was 5 years old and participated in her first canvassing effort for a County Commission race in Miami.  Since then she has worked on grassroots and high level campaigns in Florida and Georgia on the local, state and federal level including coordinating the voter protection efforts for Congressman John Lewis and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.
