Georgia WIN List is thrilled to endorse Lynn Gladney for House District 130.

As a third-generation military veteran, Lynn represents the first woman in her own family’s legacy of commitment to serve in the armed forces. Her grandfather was a World War II era Navy veteran & her father is a Vietnam-era Army veteran. During her military service in the Army she was assigned overseas to both East Asia and Europe as well as several stateside tours in Georgia where she ultimately decided to establish herself and raise her family.

Pursuant to her early career in the military, Lynn is a transplant to Georgia from Arkansas; as a single parent new to the Augusta area in early 2000, she wasted no time finding ways to get involved in our community. She quickly “dug in” because she knew it was important to model for her sons the significance of giving back. Lynn has supported the efforts of many local charitable organizations like Child Enrichment, Safe Homes, Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army Angel Tree, and Operation Christmas Child.

As a parent and a former employee of the Richmond County School System she knows the significance of her support for “Back to School” efforts in our community sponsored by the school system and its local partners. Through her community involvement she has organized food collection initiatives for Golden Harvest Food Bank which also supports local food pantries all over the CSRA.

During the pandemic she was part of an organizing team in one of the most successful local Farmers to Families Food Box distribution projects. This partnership with the USDA and local non-profit/for profit entities was a combined effort. A national response pursuant to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act; its sole intention was to provide immediate food support for families in the middle of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Additionally she has worked with teams to organize Coats for Kids to support the Boys and Girls Club of Augusta and the Richmond County School System. She has also collaborated with local leaders and private sponsors to provide water for students of Richmond County for the athletic programs during the pandemic. Additional community efforts for her include her partnerships with ForcesUnited & Walton Options for Independent living, she supports their efforts to bring greater awareness and visibility to their commitment to serve our community.  As an appointee of The City of Augusta Commission Super District 9 Commissioner, Lynn currently serves as a Commissioner for the Augusta Aviation Commission over the Augusta Regional Airport.
