What a month for the women of Georgia’s WIN List!
Stacey Abrams has been elected Minority Leader of the Democratic House Caucus. This marks the first time in our state’s history that a woman has been elected the leader of either party.
Stacey’s election follows last week’s general election where in an anti-incumbent climate, Georgia’s WIN List protected 95% of our incumbents and added FIVE NEW women to the Georgia Legislature.
Now, four of WIN List’s endorsed women have been elected to House Leadership positions. In addition to Stacey, the House Caucus has elected:
- Carolyn Hugely– Minority whip
- Debbie Buckner– Secretary
- Stephanie Stuckey Benfield– Treasurer
We congratulate these women on their new positions. We MUST keep these women in positions of power and therefore protecting our incumbents continues to drive WIN List efforts as we look forward to 2012 and 2014. Our plan for these incumbents includes assisting them in upgrading their websites, education in the use of social media tools and fundraising techniques and providing professional data analysis.
WIN List endorsed women are unstoppable.
