WANT TO HELP REGISTER NEW VOTERS?
Now is the time to step outside of your comfort zone. Ask your cashier at the grocery store, your Uber driver, your mail person, your teenager’s friends, your babysitter, your waiter, and so on. Ask everyone you encounter during the next 7 days.
Here are some helpful tools:
- GA SOS App – Download the app for your Apple or Android phones, so the ability to check voter registration and register new voters is always at your fingertips.
- TurboVote – This site walks you through the process of determining if someone is eligible to vote, getting them registered to vote, and sending reminders on where and when to vote as elections approach.
- Vote.org – This site does the same thing as TurboVote.
If you want to volunteer to register new voters, here are a few organizations you can get involved with during this last week.
- New Georgia Project is a nonpartisan effort to register and civically engage all Georgians who make up the New American Majority – people of color, those 18 to 29 years of age, and unmarried women.
- Spread the Vote Georgia is a nonpartisan effort to help eligible voters obtain government-issued photo IDs.
- Let America Vote is an organization fighting voter suppression. Check out the Georgia Activist group on Facebook.
- Georgia Voter Registration Project is a group of Georgians who are dedicated to voter registration. They arrange voter registration training sessions, organize registration drives, and provide registration forms. Fill out their form and they’ll alert you about any and all upcoming opportunities to participate.
- Georgia Muslim Voter Project is an organization whose mission is to activate Muslim voters in order to elevate their voices.
