Yasmin is a native of Clayton County . She is a graduate of Jonesboro High School and attended Valdosta State and Clayton State Colleges, where she pursued a degree in criminal justice. In 2005, Yasmin completed an internship with Georgia Public Broadcasting “Lawmakers” program, which covered the House and Senate proceedings while in session. After graduating from the Police Academy, Yasmin joined the Clayton County Police Department where she currently works as a Detective in the Major Felony Unit. Yasmin has served as Press Secretary for the Young Democrats of Georgia from 2009-2010. In addition to WIN List, she has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood of Georgia, AFL-CIO, Atlanta Stonewall Democrats and Georgia Trial Lawyers.
House District 75 includes parts of Clayton and Fayette Counties .
